As a family photographer who shoots all over Maui, the location I seem to end up at most is Kapalua. The Deller Family took their vacation in Kapalua at The Ritz Hotel. This family came with all the energy and smiles. I loved their happy go lucky attitude (take notes folks this is how to get candids). We met at sunrise on DT Flemings Beach surrounded by sea spray from a large swell that was bringing big waves to the island this week. It created such a misty moody vibe which I love. It was a beautiful morning.
When taking an hour for your photography session I like to keep the kids entertained with thoughts of turtle watching, looking out for dolphins and other exciting ideas so they don’t get bored. We take a mini photo safari around the area and we move a lot!
Years and years of practice and two kids of my own, has shown me that this is the way to get the smiles and energy captured, rather than keeping kids still for too long.
