This was a fun family portrait session on the westside of Maui (Lahaina side) we went to Ironwoods beach which if you have seen many of my blog posts is a favorite beach of mine. As a natural light photographer I like to shoot places where I can get some nice backlight as well as less shadows cast by trees, hotels, or the light being too harsh. I really like this beach for those reasons and also because it has many stunning backdrops for a variety of scenery. This extended family was made up of two sisters with their husbands and kids and they split the session between them. The emphasis was on SMILING photos because they had a not too great experience before with a not so happy babe, so we worked on that! Taking pictures of kids comes naturally to me, as I have a three year old and a five year old, making a fool of myself, fart noises, the works, I’ll do it to get the shot, no problem!
